Do I need to be a member of The Queen's Club?

You don't have to be a member of the The Queen's Club in order to book a session.

What is pilates?

Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility, muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasises proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance. Pilates is good for injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Who is pilates for?

Pilates is suitable for all ages and levels of ability and fitness. If you have any health concerns, such as a health condition or an injury, please seek advice from your GP or a health professional before starting any exercise programme.

What are the benefits of pilates?

By practising Pilates regularly, you can achieve a number of health benefits, including improved core strength and stability, improved posture and balance, improved flexibility and joint mobility, prevention of injury and rehabilitation, efficient movement through activities of daily living, relieving stress and tension, and an enhanced sense of general well-being.

Can pilates help reduce back pain?

There's some evidence that pilates can provide pain relief to people with non-specific lower back pain, based on the information provided by the NHS and other healthcare providers. For the exercises to be effective, they need to be practised regularly and tailored to the individual’s needs. If you suffer from back pain, please check with your GP or health practitioner before you sign up for classes.

Can pilates help with weight loss?

Practising Pilates regularly can be beneficial for your health and help you maintain a healthy weight and a healthy lifestyle. If one of your goals is to lose weight, try to combine pilates with a healthy diet and some aerobic activities, such as swimming, walking and cycling.

How can I get started?

Pilates is adaptable for all ages and it’s easy to get started. You can book online through our online booking system, Gymcatch. If you have any questions, you can contact us and we will be happy to help. Once you sign up we will send you an enrolment form for you to fill in before attending the class.

Is there an expiry date on my package?

All packages have a certain validity period. A package of 5 classes is valid for 2 months from the date of purchase. A package of 10 classes is valid for 4 months from the date of purchase.

What do I need for a pilates class or session?

Comfortable fitness or pilates clothing, sticky socks, and a mat with 5mm minimum thickness to provide a good level of cushioning and support. For the online pilates group mat classes, we do occasionally use small equipment. It would be good to have them handy. What is the cancellation policy?

You can reschedule or cancel 24 hours before the class or the session starts. Please see our terms and conditions for full information on cancellation and refund policy.

I am pregnant, can I do pilates?

Pilates is a great tool during and after pregnancy. Unfortunately at the moment we do not offer pregnancy pilates. We will be doing so in the near future as we continuously develop our products and services.

I am injured, can I still attend?

If you have an injury, please seek advice from your GP or your health practitioner before signing up to a class. Your GP or health practitioner will also advise on the suitability of certain exercises or movements. It would be very helpful indeed to keep us posted regarding your injury.
